Wockhardt Hospitals Launches Patient Safety Week to Emphasize Rapid Response Teams, High Alert Medications, and Medication Reconciliation

Wockhardt Group Hospitals is proud to announce the launch of its Patient Safety Week initiative, a dedicated, week-long campaign focused on increasing awareness about the vital roles of Rapid Response Teams (RRT), High Alert Medications, and Medication Reconciliation in delivering exceptional patient care. The initiative will bring together healthcare professionals from all Wockhardt Hospital locations, including Mumbai Central, Mira Road, Nagpur, and Rajkot, to foster a deep understanding of patient safety protocols and practices.

The initiative will empower our doctors, nurses, support staff, and medical administration teams with the knowledge and skills needed to manage medical emergencies effectively and ensure the safe administration of critical medications. By spotlighting the importance of Rapid Response Teams and the careful handling of High Alert Medications, the program ensures that Wockhardt staff are fully prepared to provide optimal care under all circumstances.

Throughout the week, Wockhardt will host a variety of engaging activities to educate and inspire:

  • Slogan Writing Competition: Staff will create impactful slogans that underscore the importance of patient safety.

  • Quiz Competition: A fun and informative quiz will test staff’s understanding of key patient safety protocols related to RRTs and High Alert Medications.

  • Workshops and Team-Building Activities: Interactive sessions will foster collaboration and provide practical training in a lively, engaging format.

Ms. Zahabiya Khorakiwala, Managing Director of Wockhardt Hospitals, emphasized the significance of the initiative: “Patient safety is at the core of everything we do at Wockhardt. Patient Safety Week is not just about educating our staff—it’s also about strengthening our ability to respond to critical situations with precision and confidence. This initiative further affirms our commitment to providing the highest quality of care to our patients.”

Dr. Clive Fernandes, Group Clinical Director, and Group Chief Operating Officer of Wockhardt Hospitals added, “At Wockhardt Hospitals, patient safety is not just a priority; it is a commitment that we periodically renew by conducting such activities. These events are an opportunity for our team to reinforce our protocols that improve patient safety. Our initiatives include lectures, quizzes, GEMBA walks, and hands-on training at nursing stations and patient bedsides to ensure all associates are equipped with the latest knowledge and protocols. Consistent training ensures that all our associates are up-to-date with the latest protocols and guidelines, creating an environment where patient safety is always the top priority. This commitment is why, at Wockhardt Hospitals, Life Wins.”

The week’s activities will encourage staff to participate in dynamic workshops, collaborative exercises, and other engaging events designed to reinforce the importance of patient safety. This initiative further solidifies Wockhardt Hospitals' ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety across all locations.
