BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital kicks off its Vaccination Drive with Covishield vaccine

BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital launches Covishield vaccination drive at the hospital premises, with an aim to support the Nationwide Vaccination Drive to prevent spreading of COVID-19 infection. With a target of inoculating at least 200 health workers on 27th January 2021, many doctors and nursing staff voluntarily decided to get the Covishield shots to prevent the COVID-19 infection. Overall, there are about 637 doctors and staff in the hospital that have marked to finish the inoculation process in 3-day drive starting from 27th January 2021.

Sandeep Kumar, CEO – BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital said “Since last year the increase in COVID 19 cases has struck many healthcare workers and common masses. Amid all the chaos due to the pandemic, our central and state govt have relentlessly strived to make vaccination a reality within a couple of months, since the infection hit our country.

However, I would like to urge people who have already got vaccinated to continue following the protocol by wearing masks, continue handwashing, and maintain social-distancing”

The vaccination drive began with inoculating the senior staff members in the hospital, including Dr. Ananth N Rao, Vice President at Parkway Healthcare India , followed by Dr Kuttappa, HOD Medical Services and then Mr Shriram Vijayakumar, Chief Operating Officer, India Operations Division, Parkway Pantai.

In the onset of the vaccination drive people are given the checklist, which decides their eligibility to be a suitable candidate for vaccination. And later given a factsheet giving instruction on Covishield vaccines.
